Tucked away in Himachal Pradesh, Jibhi and Tirthan Valley are the kind of places where phones go quiet and the days run on river sounds and birdsong. They suit anyone who wants forest air, slow mornings, and a break from the city.

The Two Places at a Glance

Jibhi is a small village in the Banjar area, sitting at around 2,100 meters (about 6,900 feet).

Tirthan Valley stretches across the Kullu district. Because the terrain rises steeply, the altitude changes as you go, from roughly 1,500 meters (5,000 feet) near the lower villages to about 2,700 meters (9,000 feet) in the higher reaches.

Around Jibhi

• Jibhi Waterfall: A short walk through greenery brings you to this cascade, a good spot for photos or just sitting.
• Shoja: A peaceful hamlet with Himalayan views, forest paths, and plenty of birds.
• Ghiyagi: A village known for apple orchards and old-style Himachali wood-and-stone houses.

In Tirthan

Tirthan River: Cold, clear water that attracts trout anglers, with riverbanks suited to camping and evening barbecues. Great Himalayan National Park: A UNESCO World Heritage Site with rich wildlife, varied plant life, and long trekking routes. Shringa Rishi Temple: A shrine to the local deity, offering a glimpse of the area’s traditions.
