About Chopta, Tungnath & Deoriatal

Chopta, nicknamed the “Mini Switzerland of Uttarakhand,” is a scenic village ringed by dense forest and snowy summits. It is the base for the hike to Tungnath Temple, the world’s highest Shiva temple, at roughly 3,680 meters. The shrine is said to be over a thousand years old and is one of the five sacred Panch Kedar temples, which carry deep meaning in Hindu tradition.

Beyond the temple, the trail climbs further to Chandrashila Peak at about 3,700 meters. The summit rewards you with a 360° panorama of Himalayan giants such as Nanda Devi, Trishul, Kedar Dome, and Chaukhamba. Together, the scenery, the sacred sites, and the climb make this a trip that stays with you.

Setting Out from Delhi
